Business Leaders Roundtable Group
Description
All business leaders, of businesses of any size, shape or form, are invited to participate in the Business Leaders Round Table Group. This is a Round Table group that meets every other month, on the second Thursday of the month. This is a confidential setting for business leaders to share their best practices with other business leaders. All participants will be required to have a signed Confidentiality Agreement on file at The Chamber.
A typical Business Leaders Round Table Group meeting format/agenda will look like this:
Introductions
Guest Speaker Presentation
Q&A, and facilitated discussion with Guest Speaker
Open Forum for Discussion on any Additional Topics
Brainstorming of Future Topic/Speakers
November 9 Session will feature a brief presentation on LTC's Fast Track Program.
The FastTrack program developed by Lakeshore Technical College is designed to provide the maximum impact with minimal disruption. Students will be required to attend in-person only four hours one night per week. The remainder of the schoolwork may be done at the student’s optimal time; whether it be midnight, noon, or somewhere between. This, in turn, will result in minimal disruptions for the businesses that sponsor the students. Rather than being required to be in class four or five days per week the student only has to arrange one night per week for physical attendance. In return, the student will have the opportunity to earn an Associate’s Degree in a two year timeframe. During this two-year period the student will be learning skills that they can immediately apply to their work environment, whether that be in manufacturing management, human resources, or marketing. The classes being offered will provide a well-rounded education in the field that the student pursues, providing the businesses that support them with an educated team member that should be able to contribute on a broader scale than they may currently be able to do. Remember the story about the Human Resources Manager and the President having a conversation about training. The Human Resources Manager asks “What if we train the people and they leave?” The President responds “What if we don’t train them and they stay?”. We are offering an opportunity to train your future leaders in the skills that they will require to assist your company in advancing in your fields. You may benefit your company by providing your team members with a first-class education.
