Each 30-minute session is led by a chamber member expert and focuses on a different layer of protection including technology, insurance, and financial systems, so participants can walk away better informed and better prepared to safeguard their operations.

Session 1: Technology & IT Protection

Cyber criminals are constantly evolving their tactics, and technology is often the first line of defense. This session will introduce participants to the most common cyber scams targeting small organizations and outline the essential hardware, software, and IT practices that can significantly reduce risk. The focus will be on practical, scalable protections—not overly complex or enterprise-level solutions.

Participants will:

• Understand common cyber threats such as phishing, ransomware, malware, and business email compromise
• Learn basic hardware and software protections every small organization should have in place
• Identify key IT policies (passwords, access control, updates, backups, remote work, etc.)
• Gain clarity on what protections are “must-haves” versus “nice-to-haves” for small organizations
• Leave with a short checklist of questions to ask their IT provider or internal staff
