The current job market poses significant challenges for area organizations and the demographic of job seekers is changing. Presenters will share recent data from local employers and candidates so that job fairs are a more effective use of time. Recruiters need to connect with the passer-by and encourage applications at fairs – but how can employers be more creative in their approach. This session will help individuals draw candidates in so you can reduce your time-to-hire! We will also explore how experiential education can be an effective recruitment tool.
Jess Lambrecht is a higher education professional and has been working in student services for more than 16 years. She is the Assistant Vice President of Cooperative Education & Career Readiness at Lakeland University, located near Plymouth, WI, - an institution that is innovative in its experiential education approach. She obtained her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She is passionate about helping prepare students for future careers and provide opportunities for all to learn and grow.
Jolene Wilkens is an Employment and Training Supervisor with the Department of Workforce Development for the Bay Area. Jolene serves job seekers and employers in both Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties as well as on several committees including Business Solutions Team, Manitowoc Partners in Education, Sheboygan Business Education Partnership and Bay Area Rapid Response Team. Jolene also serves in many other capacities including assisting and providing image and branding consultation to job seekers in the resource rooms, presenting on Job Center of Wisconsin, and is a conduit for businesses and job seekers to connect. Previously, Jolene worked in the higher education realm serving in multiple roles. She holds a MS Ed. in Student Personnel Administration from Concordia University Wisconsin, and a BA in Communications, from Clarke University, Dubuque, IA.
