Description
The Nonprofit Board Prep Program is a comprehensive training program for individuals who are interested in serving on nonprofit boards. This educational series was recently offered out to our Young Professionals and now we are pleased to offer this out to all individuals who are interested in serving on a Non-Profit Board including all Young Professionals who missed the first series.
This program is a four-session series taking place from Noon -1:00 PM at The Beacon Organizational Consulting. Participants must attend at least 75% of the workshops to receive a certificate of completion. Also at the end of the series you will be provided with a packet that gives you the contact information for the many Non-Profits in our community that are in need of both Board Members and volunteers.
The board prep training sessions are led by local community leaders who are experienced in serving on a variety of nonprofit boards within Manitowoc County.
Session 2—Fundraising & Grant Writing
Donna Firman, Mustard Seed Advisors
Donna is the founder of Mustard Seed Advisors, a philanthropic organization that helps nonprofits build capacity, develop strategy and raise money. She is a well-rounded professional with twenty+ years of progressive experience in business, organizational and client development, donor development, training, and results-oriented leadership. She's equally well versed with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. For nearly ten years Donna has worked as a social entrepreneur helping organizations to raise money, drive operational excellence, and solve business problems that hold institutions back and prevent growth. She's trained and energized boards of directors, planned and executed major fundraising events, and created brand identities for not-for-profits. She's also successfully written governmental and foundation grants. Donna has a unique combination of micro and macro perspectives, with strong relationship building, collaboration and communication skills. She is proud of her many years of volunteer service that started at the age of thirteen. The expectation set by her late father that she would always find a way to contribute to a higher calling, has in-part informed the work she does today.
