Non-Profit Board Education Training S...
Description
The Non-Profit Board Education Training Series for Young Professionals is a program for young professionals who are interested in serving on non-profit boards – or those who are currently serving on a board and want to increase their knowledge as a board member. It was created as an exciting opportunity for young professionals to leverage their leadership skills and gain an understanding for what it takes to be successful non-profit board members.
A secondary goal of the program and of the Young Professionals of Manitowoc County is to increase the leadership roles of the young professionals within Manitowoc County's non-profit sectors.
This program is a four-part series taking place on Tuesdays: October 15, October 22, October 29 and November 5, from 12:00-1:00 PM at The Chamber of Manitowoc County, 1515 Memorial Dr., Manitowoc. Participants must attend all of the workshops to receive a certificate of completion.
The board education training sessions are led by local community leaders who are experienced in serving on a variety of non-profit boards within Manitowoc County.
The fee to participate in this training program is $60 per individual. Lunch and training materials for each session are included in the registration fee. Class size is limited to 15 individuals.

Session 1: Robert’s Rules Refresher
Presented by: Christopher Able
Throughout this session, you’ll receive an overview of Robert’s Rules of Order so you can confidently and effectively run or participate in your next board or committee meeting.
Christopher Able has served on many different boards, committees, and commissions, including Manitowoc City Council, Manitowoc Transit Commission, Manitowoc Public Library, and the MPSD School Board. While teaching here in Manitowoc, he became certifiable as a Municipal Clerk or Treasurer through the Wisconsin Clerks & Treasuries Institute. A life-long lover of rules and order, it is only natural that he should be a local champion of Roberts Rules of Order.
