Sparkle! The History of Aluminum Trees
Name: Sparkle! The History of Aluminum Trees
Date: December 13, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM CST
In 1959, Aluminum Specialty Company, in Manitowoc, WI, developed a 'space-aged' Christmas tree design that took over the country. Not only did this company manufacture more than 1 million trees, another forty aluminum companies, including Manitowoc’s Mirro, produced their own version of the tree, ranging from the fairly common 2' size to 4', 6' and the more rare 7' and even an 8' tree in a variety of colors (silver being the most common)! Join us in the Balkansky Community Room of Manitowoc Public Library from 6 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, December 13th, for a presentation on the history of these shimmering lovelies by local aluminum tree enthusiast and aficionado of all things wonderfully wacky and tacky, Barbara Bundy-Jost. It’s virtually guaranteed to be an illuminating evening! Admission is FREE!!!
