YP Grow: Mayoral Candidate Forum
Description
Join the Young Professionals of Manitowoc County to hear from the candidates for Mayor for the City of Manitowoc: Justin Nickels and Chris Able.
Candidate Forums provide a venue to inform and educate our community by hosting discussion with candidates so that they may to share viewpoints. Candidate forums do not declare a winner.
Opinions expressed by candidates participating do not necessarily reflect the position of The Chamber of Manitowoc County or its members, nor does it constitute endorsement or support of any candidates participating. The Chamber of Manitowoc County does not endorse or support candidates.
The forum will operate as follows:

Candidates will be given 2 minutes to introduce themselves and give a brief background/overview

A timer will be on camera, and they will hold up a yellow sheet of paper when a candidate is at 1 minute and 30 seconds and a red piece of paper when their 2 minutes are up.
Pre-Positioned Questions

Candidates will answer five pre-submitted questions, that were composed by the Young Professionals of Manitowoc County committee. The candidates receive these questions in advance of the forum. Candidates will have 2 minutes to respond to these questions.

"What are your plans for the continuation of downtown growth?"

"How do you plan on attracting and retaining Young Professionals in our area?"

"Many Young Professionals cannot afford to buy a home, and there are limited, affordable rental opportunities for Young Professionals in our area - How will you address the housing issues as it relates to the needs of Young Professionals?"

"How do you propose supporting our local education systems?"

"How would you promote Young Professionals becoming involved in City Government - boards, commissions, committees, etc.?"

Please do not submit questions during the pre-submitted Q&A portion. Please wait until questions are opened up to the audience.

Questions in Zoom are to be submitted via chat to the moderator, and will take precedent over Facebook Live questions.

"Like" questions may be bundled into one question by the moderator, and therefore may not be asked verbatim.

Questions deemed inappropriate or from unknown attendees may not be answered.
