Here is your chance to go behind-the-scenes and experience the operations of three manufacturing companies right here in Manitowoc! The multi company tour will include Skana Aluminum Company, Tramontina and Orion Energy Systems. All are welcome to join us for any or all of the tours.
4:00 PM: Tour of Skana Aluminum Company | 2009 Mirro Drive, Manitowoc
Skana’s history begins about 100 years ago as an aluminum company. Skana Aluminum is a fully integrated rolling mill, complete with direct chill (DC) casting, hot and cold rolling, slitting, tension leveling and finished coil, sheet or circle capabilities. Skana is very efficient at casting small quantities of specialized alloys and higher volumes of more common alloys. Steve Gallimore, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will present about the company’s capabilities and history, followed by a tour of the facility.
5:00 PM: Tour of Tramontina | 2005 Mirro Drive, Manitowoc
In 2005, Tramontina USA established a factory in the state of Wisconsin. Located in the city of Manitowoc, the subsidiary company, Tramontina U.S. Cookware, produces aluminum cookware vessels. The manufacturing process provides a variety of options for finishes, such as hard anodized, colored ceramic-coated, colored porcelain enamel, bright multi-colored exterior and polished and satin commercial-grade aluminum alloy 3004. Brooke Claxton, Brenda Haese, and Kim Kettner will present and lead tours of the facility.
6:00 PM: Tour of Orion Energy Systems and reception to follow | 2210 Woodland Drive, Manitowoc
