Job Description

Job Title: Research and Planning Specialist (Part-Time)
Employment Classification: Support Staff Non-Exempt ~ $16.50 per hour
Reports To: Vice President of Strategy
Location: Lakeshore Technical College ~ Cleveland Campus

Employment & Work Schedule:27 hours per week x 52 weeks (1,404 Annual Hours)
Monday-Thursday; 8am-2:00pm | Friday; 8am-1:30pm (Times may be flexible)
Provide support and assistance in the Research and Planning office. Coordinate, assist, and monitor with processes, procedures, surveys, grants, and projects related to Research and Planning. Maintain confidentiality and ethical business practices related to research. Direct and provide general college information to telephone and walk-in traffic.

Job Description
• Create/maintain spreadsheets and/or databases for area projects as needed; prepare reports and final documents; oversee the establishment and maintenance of filing systems. 
• Prepare reports and update data and other information for decision-making and users. Validate reports, records, and other material for accuracy, completeness and conformity with established standards. 
• Support research and reporting projects through collecting data, confidential and accurate data entry, and following established procedure. Assist in fulfilling research requests.
• Assist and support project management documentation and processes for identified initiatives/projects.
• Train staff on using Cognos reporting tool and using the data. Support in creating data definitions and report documentation for users.
• Coordinate preparing WTCS and other federal documentation to support program planning and other compliance reporting requirements.
• Assist in the coordination of integrated planning, monitoring, and outcomes reporting processes.
• Assist in the administration of the survey software. Assist with administration of surveys and evaluations.
• Coordinate reporting for IPEDS, National Student Clearinghouse, and other efforts. Coordinate the administration of external surveys (student and employee satisfaction, Noel-Levitz, CCSSE, and other identified projects).
• Manage web-based content for the Research and Planning’s internal portal site and external website.
• Provide administrative support for the department to include but not limited to, internal and external Web-based content, data entry and collection, record retention, meeting preparation, budgeting, financial reporting, and other duties as assigned.
• Provide 5 Star Service throughout all customer interactions.

• Related Associate Degree or equivalent with two to three years recent related occupational experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel is required.
• Proficient in using the Internet to research and find information.
• Organized and conscientious in maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work with other people to complete a task.
• Provide customer service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Exemplify college values in all staff and student interactions as well as services delivered.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and citizens of diverse cultural, social or educational backgrounds.
