Summery 
Under the direction of the Leadership Team and Human Resources, the Building Maintenance Technician ensures the completion of building related projects, upkeep, and repair in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Maintains the upkeep of the facility by performing building maintenance activities to include: washing of windows, collection and removal of all waste; vacuuming/cleaning of carpets and rugs; replacing or repairing of light fixtures, outlets, and switches; disposing of hazardous waste following correct procedures; maintenance and repair of bathroom and drinking fixtures and plumbing; replacing or repairing ceiling tiles; and all other building related activities.
  • “Do it yourself” knowledge of basic electrical, HVAC, mechanical and plumbing projects.
  • Cleaning of kitchens and bathroom regularly.
  • Maintains company-wide daily, weekly, monthly and annual housekeeping standards.
  • Partners with building vendors to ensure that they are provided with the necessary information, tools, and access in order to complete projects approved by the Leadership Team.
  • Removes snow using snow removal equipment and shovels; and spreads snow and ice melting chemicals on ice and snow on sidewalks and parking areas as needed.
  • Performs grounds keeping duties, including irrigation system management, lawn care, weed control, rodent/pest control and the trimming of property greenery.
  • Collaborates with the Americollect Building & Grounds committee to consider enhancements to the building, to allocate resources for these efforts, and to execute the developed solution.
  • Performs painting responsibilities where needed.
  • Assists with the planning, set up, and take down of company events.
  • Moves office furniture and equipment from office to office or building to building. Installs and repairs building furniture and equipment.
  • Monitors and maintains building supplies, ordering as necessary.
  • Runs errands and picks up supplies and parts as requested.
  • Inspects fire extinguishers and emergency lighting, ensuring their operability.
  • Responds to fire alarms; extinguishing fires if necessary and possible.
  • Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
 
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
 
Experience and/or Training:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Building Maintenance capacity.
  • Prior experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
  • Prior experience writing routine reports and correspondence, communicating effectively with organization leaders and vendors
 
License:
  • N/A
 
Technology
