Description / Scope / Mission
Perform maintenance and repair work on production equipment and company facilities. Train Mechanics.
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
- Install new and existing equipment.
- Perform fabrication various metals, pipes required for maintaining production equipment.
- Recognize and use various lubricants to maintain machinery and equipment.
- Understand and maintain chains, belts, bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, drives, etc..
- Fabricate change parts for different types of machinery.
- Test all newly fabricated change parts before production run for functionality.
- Exercise good safety practices to prevent accidents to self, others and facilities.
- Be willing and capable of training a diverse work group with varying skill levels and complete all tasks in a positive and professional manner.
- Troubleshooting/ root cause analysis.
- Project work as assigned.
- Maintenance and repair of company facilities and building systems.
- Work order entry and completion.
- Inventory management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, parts breakdown drawings, and schematics.
- Perform other duties as required and requested by supervisor.
- Work with Maintenance Mechanics and Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager to identify and document major equipment related issues and establish an organized plan to implement corrective action.

Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
- Journeyman card preferred as Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, or Electrician
- 3-5 years maintenance repair in a manufacturing setting preferred
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
- Journeyman card as Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, or Electrician
Specific Knowledge: (Technical/Product, Organizational and Interpersonal)
- Taste or smell; and use foot/feet to operate machine up to 1/3 of the time.
- Stand; walk; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or touch; talk or hear 2/3 and more of the time.
- Up to 10 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 25 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 50 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Up to 100 pounds to be lifted or force to be exerted up to 1/3 of the time.
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point).
- Dept perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
- Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:
- Various hand tools, welding equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PPE REQUIRED:
- Exposure to wet, humid conditions (non-weather); exposure to fumes or airborne particles; exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals; and exposure to outdoor weather conditions up to 1/3 of the time.
- Work in high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; and exposure to vibration 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Work near moving mechanical parts 2/3 and more of the time.
- Medium factory noise.
- PPE as required by job.
