Summary

This position is responsible for the successful completion of efficiency and process improvement projects throughout all stages of project lifecycles. Projects can range from simple report automation to complex, multi-user software application. Research, data collection, data analysis, and core logical decision-making are all essential skills needed in seeing a project through its implementation. Project Analysts must have some programming knowledge, as they are responsible for communicating project specifications to IT’s Software Developers in addition to performing minor programming tasks.

  • Work with project sponsors, IT, and Project Analysts to plan and execute projects, ensuring that teams have the appropriate technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products. Responsible for projects being completed on or before deadlines and following up with Software Developers on a regular basis to check in a project process. (30%)
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and producing accurate software requirement specifications (SRS). Establishes realistic product estimates and cost benefit analysis. (25%)
  • Creates/maintains, and monitors all Software Requirement Specifications (SRS). Serves as liaison for all SRS related questions. Performs periodic testing of all live processes to ensure the process’s accuracy and necessity. (25%)
  • Transforms software designs and specifications into high functioning code in the appropriate computer language (VBA and SQL). (10%)
  • Tracks and fixes errors in code through rigorous testing, debugging, troubleshooting and documentation. Creates custom reports for various departments. Manages and maintains external written communications to consumers and performs regular testing of written procedures to ensure full compliance. Monitors efficiency and accuracy of existing and new software/programs. Develops and maintains relationships with vendors. (10%)

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates Degree preferred

Experience and/or Training

  • Programming experience of at least 1-3 years preferred
  • Previous project management or business analytics experience preferred

Technology/Equipment

  • Ability to keyboard 45 words per minute
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel [data display, formulas, macros, pivot tables, etc.], PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Knowledge of VB or VBA preferred

Working Environment

This is an office/call center environment with a moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently sitting for long periods of time and typing, entering data and reading on a computer.
