Aurora BayCare welcomes new Occupational Health and Wellness Medical Director

Green Bay, Wis. – Aurora BayCare Medical Center has announced the addition of Brian Konowalchuk, MD, MPH as Medical Director of Aurora BayCare Occupational Health and Wellness.
In his new role, Dr. Konowalchuk will work with various Northeast Wisconsin employers and patients at work-site and off-site health initiatives. He will be directing patient care processes at several Occupational Health and Wellness clinics while maintaining a patient practice of his own at the Aurora BayCare Occupational Health and Wellness on Dewey Street in Manitowoc.
Dr. Konowalchuk attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed residency in Occupational Medicine at HealthPartners. He received a Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Minnesota and went on to graduate from the University of St. Thomas Physician Leadership program.
Previously, Dr. Konowalchuk served in several leadership and administrative capacities, including Chief of Medical Specialties and most recently, Division Chair of Neuroscience at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN. In his medical practice, he provides a full array of occupational health medical examinations and injury care, including acute injury care, joint injections and other procedures associated with injuries and or joint and spine pain.
Regarding his special interests, it should be noted that Dr. Konowalchuk is one of the founders and leader of the national Impairment Without Disability conference, offered annually through a consortium that includes Essentia Health, Mayo Clinic, and HealthPartners. He is also the cofounder and developer of the SpineX spine rehabilitation program, and for many years served as the Committee chair of the Opiate Oversight Committee, which is actively involved in addressing the current opiate crisis.
