Historical Society hosts car show and vintage themed activities on July 26

 
The Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village, 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc, will host a car show and vintage themed activities on Saturday, July 26.

The event, Mid Summer Meltdown, will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 10 am to 4 pm. Grab a Cedar Crest ice cream and check out Traditional pre-1966 Hot Rods, Customs, stock Cars, trucks, Motorcycles, and a vintage fire engine exhibit. Listen to Rockabilly music while touring the historic Pinecrest Village - all for a special admission rate of only $10 a person.

Cars begin filling the village at 10 am. If you are coming to view the cars, plan to arrive closer to 11 am. Those interested in bringing a vehicle for the car show should look for the Car Show workers with aprons at the main gate entrance. Entry is only $10 for a car entry and all people inside. Cars will be allowed though the gates shortly before 10 am. Volunteers will get cars parked around the village.
Food and beverages are available on site with Nina’s Pita Hut food truck.
In addition to the historic structures of Pinecrest Village, custom cars, stocks, hot rods, hot rods and vintage motorcycles, there will be music and more. Enjoy delicious ice cream from our partners at Cedar Crest Ice Cream. Catch the mid century fashion Style Show at 11 am and maybe even hit the dance floor! Live Music will be shared from Noon to 2 pm with the The Dirty Martinis Rockabilly Band. Whip out your best Jell-o recipe and Mirro mold for our Jell-o contest! Want to showcase your Jell-o creation? Have your masterpiece at the Meeme House dining room by 1:30 pm. Judging and ribbons will take place at 2 pm.

About the Manitowoc County Historical Society
Nestled in the scenic rolling Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside of Eastern Wisconsin, the Manitowoc County Historical Society is a museum of living history. This 60-acre interpretive museum of local history features a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services and the outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village - a collection of over 25 historic buildings with period furnishings from Manitowoc County's early settlers. 
 
Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 with a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family.  The Village has grown to represent a reproduction of a small Wisconsin community during the early 1900s. The buildings form the commercial, social, and political core of a town and they represent several architectural styles of Wisconsin's history. The furnishings, items, and tools in the various buildings used by the Pinecrest Village interpreters are either original pieces or carefully researched reproductions.
