Manitowoc, WI, September 5, 2018—The Manitowoc Public Library Children Services October Programming is scheduled with the following events and dates:
Family Activity Night – Tuesdays @ 6:30 PM
  • October 2:    Nature Night
  • October 9:    Read to Certified Therapy Dogs
  • October 16: Dinosaur Dig
  • October 23: Art Blast
  • October 30: Halloween Party!
Baby Lapsit – Tuesdays & Wednesdays @ 9:30 AM (Geared towards the 2 years and under set.)
Story Time – Tuesdays & Wednesdays @ 10:30 AM (Geared towards the 2 years and older set.)
  • October 2-6:  Birds
  • October 9-13:  What a Mess!
  • October 16-20:  I Love Fall!
  • October 23-27:  Whiskers & Wings
  • October 30 - November 3:  Halloween
Evening Baby Lapsit – Thursday @ 6:30 PM Geared towards infants and toddlers under the age of 2 and their adult caregiver.  Baby Lapsit is 20 minutes of stories, songs, rhymes, bounces, parachute activities, and bubbles followed by 20 minutes of age appropriate play time.
Family Story Time – Saturdays @ 10:00 AM through November.  Family Story Time is an early literacy experience geared for ages 2-6, but can be enjoyed by the entire family.  Story Time includes stories, fingerplays, rhymes, dancing, puppets, art projects, and lots of audience participation!

  • Outrageous Ozobots                                   Wednesday, October 10 @ 4:30 PM      
Learn how to control a robot just by drawing with our Amazing Ozobots! Join us to see how fun and easy it is to code with color! Due to limited supplies, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration begins October 1st.  Please visit the Youth Services Desk or call 920-686-3030 to register.
  • Theatrer for the Very Young                      Friday, October 12 at 10:00 AM  
Join Dare to Dream Theater Artistic Director Rachel Thuermer in this workshop designed to engage toddlers through creative play. For children aged 18 months to 5 years.
  • Family Book Fun:  Mystery                         Monday, October 15 at 6:30 PM
Join us for a whole new Manty spin on book clubs! Read a mystery ahead of time as a family and come on the 3rd Monday of the month to talk books, eat snacks, and do fun activities together! For our second book club, please bring your favorite mystery book to share.
  • Music & Movement                                     Friday, October 19 at 10:00 AM  
Music & Movement is a movement-based, early literacy rich program for young children ages 2-5 and their adult caregiver. Join us as we move, groove, and boogie along with the beat! Stories, meaningful movement, and fun dancing with scarves, egg shakers, rhythm sticks, parachutes, and more!
  • Family Art Fun:  Pop-Up Pictures               Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 PM   
Join us for a Sunday afternoon of art for the whole family! These fun, hands-on projects are designed for all levels of skill, especially for parents and children to create together!
  • Harry Potter Escape Room (Family)           Friday, October 26 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Do you have what it takes to make it past Fluffy, the Devil’s Snare, flying keys, and more to save the sorcerer’s stone from He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named? Grab your wizard robes and your best mates to test your skills at our Harry Potter Escape Room! REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Families are encouraged to sign up together! Groups smaller than six people may be combined with another group. The maximum size of a group will be limited to six members allowed in the escape room at one time. Registration begins October 1st. Please visit the Youth Services Desk or call 920-686-3030 to register your group and reserve your time slot.
