Manitowoc, WI, July 1, 2018—The Manitowoc Public Library Teen Services July Programming is scheduled with the following events and dates:
 
Fairy House Flowerpots and Photo Tiles
Monday, July 2, 2:00 p.m., Balkansky Room A
 
Come design your very own fairy house flowerpot for your summer garden or design a unique stamped tile to hold a special photograph or item.
 
Henna Tattoos with Amy Wilde
Thursday, July 12, Teens 3:00-5:00 p.m.; Adults/Family 6:00-8:00 p.m., Teen Scene/Franklin Room
 
Our ever popular Henna Tattoo program with Castleart’s Amy Wilde will be returning again this year! Learn all about the art of henna tattooing and receive an optional tattoo from the artist. There will be two sessions one for teens from 3-5pm and one for adults and families from 6-8pm. Registration will be required since each session will be capped at 40 participants. Registration for teens is available at the Children’s Desk. Registration for Adults (18+) and Family (Ages 2+, combined adults and children) is available at the Downstairs Front Desk.
 
LARPing with Dystopia Rising
Saturday, July 21, 1:00 p.m., Balkansky Room ABC
 
What is LARPing or Live Action Role Playing? Come join the Dystopia Rising group and learn what fun you can have creating and acting out a character in a post-apocalyptic zombie overrun world. Learn the basics of developing your own character and strategy and boffer (foam weapon) combat from regular players. No registration required.
 
Nuts & Bolts About Robots
Thursday, July 26, 2:00 p.m., Balkansky Room BC
 
 
Spend an afternoon with some of our miniature robots and learn the basics of direction-based programming by building a Lego maze for the bots to navigate. Who can make it through the fastest? After that maybe we’ll play some meeperBot soccer! No registration required.
 
Battle of the Books 2018
July 12, 19 & 26, 4:00-5:00pm, Library Board Room
There will be no practice July 5th, due to the holiday.
BoB is a system-wide trivia competition between library teams. Each library in the Manitowoc-Calumet system assembles teen teams to compete for a trivia trophy. Practices are every Thursday throughout the summer and the final competition will be September 5th at Silver Lake College. Registration is ongoing at the Children’s Desk.
