Manitowoc, WI, September 11, 2018—The Manitowoc Public Library January Adult Events are scheduled on the following dates and times:
Lakeshore Grief Support, Monday, October 1, 6:00 PM-7:30 PM. Lakeshore Grief Support Programs is a non-profit volunteer organization of people who are trained and committed to helping all people of all walks of life through the difficult journey of grief.  We are not professional counselors, but we are people who believe that the support we can give each other when going through loss of a loved one is powerful and healing. Franklin Street Room.
Close to Home: Domestic Issue Series, Monday, October 1, 8, 15, & 22, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Balkansky Community Room. This companion series to “Great Decisions” uses a panel discussion format to examine the difficult-to-discuss realities that have the potential to impact the daily lives of people within our community. From guns in schools to freedom of speech, we use this format to discuss matters that otherwise might go unaddressed. The complete list of topics to be discussed are as follows:

Lakeshore Memory Café provides a comfortable and non-judgmental environment in which persons with dementia, their families and their caregivers can interact and enjoy the company of others experiencing similar challenges. Be Smart with Your Money with Jeff Kemp, Wednesday, October 3, 10, & 17, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Balkansky Community Room. Join award-winner, Jeff Kemp, at MPL for this three-part Investment Class Series, which will help guide participants to make better choices and give them power with their finances and investments. Join Mary Eberle, an experienced genealogist and DNA expert, for a workshop that will help you to understand your DNA results. You will learn about the available tests, as well as more advanced topics in interpreting your DNA test results! Whether you are new or have experience in genetic genealogy this workshop is for you! Along with Packers’ stories and history, Jim will be presenting over 200 photos of an extensive memorabilia collection that traces the 100-year history of the Packers from Lambeau to McCarthy.

The Witness Stand: Scary StorySlam @ Courthouse Pub, Wednesday, October 24, 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Whether it’s things that go bump in the night or the terrifying way that the skin on a peach makes your teeth feel overly dry, there are plenty of alarming tales to tell! Why not tell yours at “BOO!”—the second installment of MPL’s and Gorehouse—we mean, Courthouse Pub’s storytelling series. Sign-up begins at 5:30 PM.
Maker Play for Adults: 3Doodler Calaveras Decorating Fun, Thursday, October 25, 6:30 PM-7:30 PM. Franklin Street Room. Get ready to celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) by creating a plastic 3D printed replica of a calavera (sugar skull) using our 3Doodler Create+ pens.  We provide the supplies and you provide the creativity for this beginner level class! Adults ages 18 and up are invited to register, but space is extremely limited. Registration is required and sign-up opens October 1.
