Manitowoc, WI, March 18, 2021—Manitowoc Public Library’s April 2021 Children’s Programs are a combination Grab & Go Kits and Virtual Events. All Virtual Programming can be accessed online at www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary unless otherwise indicated.
 
Family Activity Bags & Books (FAB)                                                 Grab & Go Kits (ongoing)
Looking for a fabulous activity to do as a whole family? The Library has you covered! Each month, we’ll be offering a variety of Family Activity Bags (FAB) & Books—we supply the materials for you to have fun at home! And now, each FAB comes with a book, hand-picked for you by your Friendly Neighborhood Librarians! Check back for the new lineup of FAB fun every month! FABs are available on a first come, first served basis and supplies are limited! Register online via manitowoclibrary.org/fab or by phone at 920-686-3010. If calling, you must speak to a live staff member to reserve your kit.  Voicemails and emails will not be honored due to the popularity of this program. Limit 2 FABs per Family.
 
  • FOODWISE PRESENTS—THE THREE LITTLE PIGS: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 1 @ 5:00 PM Only the healthiest of the Little Pigs has the energy to build a sturdy home. Participants receive story sequencing cards & pieces for making stick puppets so that they can act out the story as it’s being told. Includes a recipe for Healthy Pig Snack Mix. Tune into Facebook on Wednesday, April 7 @ 9:30 AM for a special storytime with FoodWIse!
  • GLAZE & PAINT SPRING FLOWERS KITS: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 8 @ 5:00 PM Pick up your materials ahead of time and join Katie from Glaze & Paint on April 13 @ 6:30 PM on our Facebook page/YouTube channel for a virtual tutorial to create your own 3D flowers
  • WISCONSIN MARITIME MUSEUM PAPER BOAT KITS: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 15 @ 5:00 PM Learn all about boats and how to make your own paper boat with staff from Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Join us for a livestream on April 20 @ 6:30 PM!
  • BIRDS!: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 22 @ 5:00 PM Love animals? This kit is for you! Grab a kit and tune in on Friday, April 30 @ 1:00 PM on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/manitowooclibrary) or on our YouTube channel to learn all about your favorite feathered friends and make a fun craft with artist Mary Tooley!
  • PAPER CIRCUIT KITS: REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 29 @ 5:00 PM Make simple or complex electrical circuits on a flat piece of paper! Using copper tape and surface-mount LEDs allows you to make a fully-functional circuit on a flat surface, like a piece of paper. You can create light-up greeting cards, make origami animals come to life, or fashion a three-dimensional pop-up paper sculptures that have working lights in them.
 
Virtual Preschool Storytime                                                             Wednesdays at 9:30 AM
Join us in singing, talking, reading, creating, and playing at this inclusive Storytime for families with preschoolers. Storytime focuses on concepts such as life skills, counting, colors, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. Storytime is recommended for developmental ages 2-5, but siblings outside that age range are always welcome! All Storytimes are inclusive and welcoming. Registration is not required. Storytime will be held virtually on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM on Manitowoc Public Library’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/manitowoclibrary.
 
Virtual Storytime On The Road at Memorial Drive Veterinary Clinic
