Manitowoc, WI, April 26, 2021—Manitowoc Public Library’s April 2021 Children’s Programs are a combination Grab & Go Kits and Virtual Events. All Virtual Programming can be accessed online at unless otherwise indicated.
Summer Reading Program                                            All Ages! Online Registration Starts May 1
Earn HUNDREDS of raffle tickets by reading a little each day!
How it works:
  • Each day of reading earns you a "Reading Badge"
  • Log your daily read time to receive your badge
  • Badges convert into raffle tickets (Day 1 of Reading Badge = 1 Raffle Ticket; Day 5 of Reading Badge = 5 Raffle Tickets)
  • The more badges you earn, the more raffle tickets you get to try and win prizes!
Family Activity Bags & Books (FAB)                                                 Grab & Go Kits (ongoing)
Looking for a fabulous activity to do as a whole family? The Library has you covered! Each month, we’ll be offering a variety of Family Activity Bags (FAB) & Books—we supply the materials for you to have fun at home! And now, each FAB comes with a book, hand-picked for you by your Friendly Neighborhood Librarians! Check back for the new lineup of FAB fun every month! FABs are available on a first come, first served basis and supplies are limited! Register online via or by phone at 920-686-3010. If calling, you must speak to a live staff member to reserve your kit.  Voicemails and emails will not be honored due to the popularity of this program. Limit 2 FABs per Family.
  • CREEPY CRAWLY CRITTERS! REGISTRATION OPENS MAY 20 @ 5:00 PM Love animals? This kit is for you! Grab a kit and tune in on Friday, May 28 at 1:00 PM to learn all about the creepiest, crawliest critters around and make a fun craft with artist Mary Tooley!
Virtual Preschool Storytime                                                             Wednesdays at 9:30 AM
Join us in singing, talking, reading, creating, and playing at this inclusive Storytime for families with preschoolers. Storytime focuses on concepts such as life skills, counting, colors, emotions, patterns, and the alphabet. Storytime is recommended for developmental ages 2-5, but siblings outside that age range are always welcome! All Storytimes are inclusive and welcoming. Registration is not required. Storytime will be held virtually on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM on Manitowoc Public Library’s Facebook page:

Manitowoc Library Card Free Day at Pinecrest Historical Village
Saturday, May 15, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM
Join the Manitowoc Public Library for a free day at the Manitowoc County Historical Society. Visitors can show their MCLS library card to tour the museum at no cost. A story time will be presented at 10:30AM in Shadyside School by the Manitowoc Public Library.
Family Activity Night                                                                        Tuesdays at 5:00 PM
Family Activity Night is BACK!!! Starting May 18, Family Activity Night (FAN) will be held Tuesdays at a new time—5 PM. Be a FAN of the library as parents and children participate together in a variety of activities with a variety of community guests and hands-on fun! Each Family Activity Night lasts approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the activity. Please also note that these programs may need to switch to virtual-only at short notice. Library Closed for Memorial Day                                                      Monday, May 31, All Day
The Library will be closed Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day. Regular hours resume Tuesday, June 1.
