Manitowoc Public Utilities and Focus on Energy Appliance Recycling Program

March 07, 2017
Manitowoc, WI (March 6, 2017) – Manitowoc Public Utilities (MPU) announced today that it is partnering with Focus on Energy through its Appliance Recycling Program to lower customers energy use, reduce energy bills and keep harmful materials out of landfills.  Get $70 (per appliance) for recycling your old inefficient refrigerators or freezers through a $35 incentive from Focus on Energy and an additional $35 incentive from MPU (for MPU customers). There is a limit of two appliances per household per calendar year.

To qualify for the incentives, appliances must be in working condition, clean, and empty, with an inside measurement of between 10 to 30 cubic feet – standard size for household refrigerators or freezers.  There must be a clear and safe removal path to each appliance.

Interested customers should contact Focus on Energy to schedule a pick up date for qualifying appliances by visiting focusonenergy.com/fridge or calling (800) 354-1898.

Additional information concerning the Appliance Recycling Program is also available on the MPU website (MPU.org under the Conservation, Incentives and Programs menu) or by calling MPU at (920) 683-4600.
