Play. Connect. Grow.
This year, The Production Farm was honored to attend the 50th Annual National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Wisconsin Conference. It was our second year sharing our mission and approach to mental health care, and we are grateful for the opportunity to connect with social workers from across the state.
At the conference, our leaders, Emily Kunde, LPC, and Samantha Chapa, APSW SAC-IT, led a conversation about our unique, holistic approach to mental health. We focus on brain science, attachment research, and the science of play to create trauma-informed care that truly meets the needs of those we serve. With the guidance of TBRI and 7ei trauma-informed care practitioner Katie Heinzen, LPC; we shared practical strategies that others can use to support their clients. |

Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care
One of the core values at The Production Farm is the belief in giving people—especially children—the space to heal and grow on their own terms. We do this by allowing for choice, providing opportunities, and offering support even when mistakes are made. Our mission is to not back away when things get tough. We believe in staying connected and present, no matter what.
Our team shared real-life stories from the farm, showing how trauma-informed care can look different for each person. Whether it’s taking a child to a Christmas event at a funeral home, sitting quietly for hours doing puzzles, or helping kids cope with losing a fishing pole, we meet people where they are. These moments are about more than just activity—they’re about trust, patience, and connection. |
